THESE RULES ARE:
THE LAW IN FULL POWER AND ENFORCED BY THE GOVERNMENT OF ONTARIO ( TSSA )

BEFORE ENJOYING YOUR RACE,
YOU MUST READ AND COMPLY WITH ALL THESE SAFETY RULES CAREFULLY, IF YOU STILL HAVE ANY QUESTIONS, PLEASE ASK ONE OF OUR FRIENDLY STAFF:

  1. ONLY KARTS AND HELMETS INSPECTED AND APPROVED BY ( TSSA ) ARE ALLOWED TO BE USED, AND ONLY USED ON SHANTY BAY GO KARTS’ TRACKS.
  2. PLEASE INFORM THE TRACK ATTENDANT IF THIS IS YOUR FIRST TIME GO KARTING.
  3. OBEY THE TRACK ATTENDANT’S INSTRUCTIONS. ACT ONLY WHEN AND AS DIRECTED.
  4. YOU MUST BE MEDICALLY FIT AS TO BE LICENSED TO DRIVE ON THE ROAD.
  5. PERSONS WITH EXISTING MEDICAL CONDITIONS CANNOT GO FOR GO KARTING.
  6. PREGNANT YOUNG LADIES CANNOT GO FOR GO KARTING.
  7. YOU MUST ALWAYS WEAR A PROPERLY SIZED D.O.T. HELMET THAT COVERS YOUR EARS AND THE BACK OF YOUR HEAD AND BE INSPECTED FIRST BY A ( TSSA ) LICENSEE.
  8. YOU MUST NOT BE UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF ANY SUBSTANCES OR CONDITIONS.
  9. KEEP YOUR HANDS ON THE WHEEL AT ALL TIMES, NEVER DRIVE WITH ONE HAND AND NEVER REST YOUR HAND ON THE SIDE OF THE KART.
  10. THE GREEN GAS PEDAL IS ON THE RIGHT AND THE RED BRAKE PEDAL IS ON THE LEFT. ( DO NOT PUSH THEM AT THE SAME TIME. )
  11. FREE YOUR ATTENTION COMPLETELY FOR DRIVING, (NO SMOKING, NO ALCOHOL OR DRUGS, NO FOOD OR DRINKS, NO CELL PHONE OR MUSIC, NO CAMERA, ETC.)
  12. NO STOPPING, BUMPING, CUTTING OFF OR SWERVING. NEVER SWEAR OR SCREAM.
  13. LONG HAIR MUST BE FOLDED UP ABOVE THE SHOLDER AND STRONGLY TIED WITH AN ELASTIC BAND. LOOSE CLOTHES MUST BE SECURED (YOUR HAIR OR CLOTHES SHOULD NOT BE WAVING OR FLAPPING WHILE YOU ARE DRIVING).
  14. WEAR YOUR SHOES / SANDALS PROPERLY AND TIGHT. LOOSE SLIPPERS NOT ALLOWED.
  15. FASTEN AND SECURE YOUR SEAT BELT AND NEVER RELEASE IT.
  16. PASS THE OTHER RACERS ON THEIR LEFT SIDE AND SAFELY LET THEM PASS YOU ON YOUR LEFT SIDE.
  17. KNOWING THAT THE KART HAS NO REVERSE AND THE TRACK IS ONE WAY, IN CASE THE KART SPINS OUT OR TURNS INTO THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION OR THE ENGINE TURNS OFF, NEVER TAKE OFF YOUR HELMET OR RELEASE YOUR SEATBELT, AND NEVER STAND IN YOUR KART. JUST STAY SEATED AND CALM. THE TRACK IS ALWAYS UNDER SURVEILLANCE AND YOU WILL SOON BE ASSISTED BY THE TRACK ATTENDANT.
  18. NEVER TRY TO TOUCH THE ENGINE AND NEVER TRY TO ALTER ITS SETTINGS.
  19. ANY PERSON VIOLATING THESE RULES OR DRIVING WITH NEGLIGENCE THAT MAY CAUSE ANY PROPERTY DAMAGE OR ACTING IN A MANNER THAT PUTS HIM/HERSELF OR OTHERS AT RISK WILL BE HELD LIABLE TO THE FULL EXTENT OF THE LAW, AND WILL BE IMMEDIATELY FORCED TO LEAVE THE TRACK AND WILL FORFEIT HIS/HER RIDE.


GATE AND RACING INSTRUCTIONS

TO ENJOY A SAFE RACE,
YOU MUST FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY:

  1. AT THE GATE, WAIT FOR THE ATTENDANT, ENTER ONLY WHEN AND AS DIRECTED.
  2. GET YOUR FIRST TICKET READY TO BE HANDED FOR THE FIRST LAP WHEN YOU ENTER. COMPLY WITH ALL RULES AND BE READY FOR RACING.
  3. ONLY TODAY’S CURRENT TICKETS ARE ACCEPTED AT THE GATE. OLD TICKETS, COUPONS, GIFT CERTIFICATES, ETC. MUST BE EXCHANGED FIRST AT THE TICKET BOOTH.
  4. KEEP YOUR TICKETS INSIDE THE POUCH ON THE STEERING WHEEL.
  5. BE CAREFUL, LOST TICKETS WILL NOT BE REPLACED OR REIMBURSED.
  6. SECURE ALL SMALL / LOOSE ITEMS SO NOT TO BE LOST ON THE TRACK. DO NOT SEARCH FOR OR PICK UP ANY ITEMS FROM THE TRACK. JUST INFORM THE TRACK ATTENDANT.
  7. AT THE END OF EACH LAP, SAFELY COME TO A COMPLETE STOP AT THE FINISH LINE THEN SLOWLY PROCEED AHEAD.
    1. IF YOU STILL HAVE MORE TICKETS, SLOWLY PROCEED ON THE LEFT LANE AND FULLY STOP AT THE STOP SIGN AND HAND THE ATTENDANT THE TICKET FOR THE NEXT LAP. DO NOT HAND YOUR TICKET WHILE YOUR KART IS MOVING.
    2. IF YOU ARE DONE (HAVE NO MORE TICKETS), SLOWLY PROCEED ON THE RIGHT LANE AND PARK AT THE PIT AREA. STAY SEATED UNTIL THE ATTENDANT TURNS OFF THE ENGINE FIRST AND ALLOWS YOU TO LEAVE STRAIGHT TO THE EXIT. (YOU MUST KEEP YOUR HELMET ON UNTIL YOU LEAVE THE GATE).
  8. STARTING A RACE OR WAITING FOR OTHER RACERS IS DONE ONLY AT THE START LINE.
  9. SWITCHING RIDERS OR SPEAKING TO A STAFF MEMBER IS DONE ONLY AT THE WAIT LINE. (ENGINE MUST BE TURNED OFF BY ATTENDANT FIRST)
  10. THERE ARE NO RESTRICTIONS ON WEIGHT, HOWEVER, ACCORDING TO ( TSSA ) RULES, THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS MUST BE MET:
    1.  ON THE FAST-RACE TRACK:
      • THE TRACK IS 1 km LONG, MAX. SPEED IS 45 km/h, 1 LAP = 1½ MINUTE
      • THE DRIVER MUST BE OVER 11 YEARS OLD AND OVER 52” TALL (132 cm)
    2.  ON THE KIDDIE TRACK:
      • THE TRACK IS ¼ km LONG, MAX SPEED IS 16 km/h, 1 LAP = ¾ MINUTE
      • THE DRIVER MUST BE 8-11 YEARS OLD AND 48”-54” TALL (122-137.5 cm)
    3. KIDS 3-8 YEARS OLD: AND ALSO KIDS THAT CANNOT MEET THE ABOVE CONDITIONS CAN RIDE FREE (NO EXTRA CHARGE) AS PASSENGERS ONLY WITH AN ADULT DRIVER (OVER 18 YEARS OLD) ON THE DOUBLE SEATER KART ON THE FAST TRACK
    4.  KIDS UNDER 3 YEARS OLD: CANNOT RIDE ON THE GO-KARTS.
